About
At Laura St. Church of Christ, we believe in the power of oneness. Our faith is rooted in the belief that God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one and the same. We strive to live our lives in accordance with the teachings of the Bible, calling Bible things by Bible names, speaking where the Bible speaks, and being silent where the Bible is silent. Our mission is to spread the message of oneness and love to all those who seek it.

Worship
When it comes to worship, the Bible teaches and therefore the Church of Christ believes there are 5 Acts of Worship described in God’s word. At Laura Street Church of Christ, you can expect us to follow these mandates in our worship services.

Preaching
Empower
Growth
The Bible teaches that knowing God’s word teaching is a crucial part of worship, and that we should preach and teach the word of God faithfully and accurately (2 Tim. 4:2; 3:16-17). The Bible teaches that it should be done for the purpose of edifying, instructing, rebuking and exhorting one another in righteousness
(Eph. 4:11-16)

Singing
Empower
Growth
The Bible teaches that singing is an important part of worship, and that we should sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with grace in their hearts to the Lord (Col. 3:16).The Bible teaches that Christians should sing without musical instruments, as this is the way the early church sang (Eph. 5:19; 1 Cor. 14:15)

The Lord's Supper
Empower
Growth
The first Christians observed the Lord’s supper, the communion of the body (the bread), and the blood (fruit of the vine) of Christ (1 Cor. 10:16) during the worship service. The Church of Christ believes that we do the same every Sunday, as this is the pattern found in Acts 20:7 and 1 Cor. 11:23-26

Giving
Empower
Growth
The Bible teaches that giving is a form of worship, and that they should give as they have been prospered on the first day of every week (1 Cor. 16:1-2). The Bible teaches that giving should be done cheerfully and willingly, not grudgingly or out of necessity (2 Cor. 9:7)

Prayer
The Bible teaches that that prayer is a vital part of worship, and that Christians should pray to God the Father through Jesus Christ (Matt. 6:9; John 14:13-14). The Bible teaches that that men should lead the prayers in an orderly manner, as this is the instruction given by Paul (1 Tim. 2:8-12; 1 Cor. 14:40)
